Just like the original, Mt Pleasant’s Timber Town 2.0 will be constructed with the help of community volunteers. The city of Mt Pleasant, along with the United Way of Gratiot and Isabella Counties set up a volunteer sign-up dubbed “Community Build Week.”
The Community Build Week runs Wednesday, May 17th through Sunday, May 21st. Shifts run from 8:00AM to 1:00PM, and from noon to 5:00PM each day. Volunteers are asked to commit to at least one five hour shift.
The United Way needs a variety of services for the build, including construction, planning, food service and child care. So, even if construction isn’t your thing, there are still plenty of ways you can help! Children’s activities and child care will be available for weekend shifts, as well.
Anyone interested in helping out should sign up for a volunteer shift at uwgic.org/timbertown. Also, if you can donate any food or money, please indicate so while signing up.
