The Michigan Supreme Court was scheduled to hear arguments on Thursday regarding former MidMichigan Medical Center-Gratiot nurse Tammy McNeil-Marks. McNeil-Marks was fired on February 14, 2014 for allegedly violating federal and hospital privacy issues by talking about a patient. She had a PPO against Marcia Field, the biological grandmother of her adopted children. Field was later admitted to the hospital, and McNeil-Marks told her attorney that Field “showed up at her workplace.” She was then fired by the hospital for violating the Whistleblowers’ Protection Act. No word yet on a verdict.
