The Central Michigan Chippewas fell 8-3 to Notre Dame Tuesday in the annual Clash at Comerica in Detroit. Notre Dame collected six hits in the third inning to jump out to a 5-0 lead that CMU couldn’t recover from. The Chippewas managed just six hits throughout the entire losing effort.
On the softball diamond, the Chippewas defeated Valparaiso 8-0 on Tuesday in Indiana. Laura Vaccaro went five innings for CMU, allowing only one hit and one walk with four strikeouts, then Taylor Weaver relieved her with two perfect innings. Sydney Heath, Rachel Vieira and Erika Underwood each had three RBI in the win for the the Chippewas.
