Supporters of Alma police Lt. Kendra Overla are starting a petition calling for the city manager’s dismissal. After Overla’s interview for a vacant top job was cancelled, after she spoke out about two officers being let go in the middle of a pay period.
A story at The Morning Sun says Lt. Kendra Overla spoke out at a city commission meeting on April 25th, and her interview for the open public safety director position was cancelled on May 4th.
Travis Polash started the petition because he believes her interview was unjustly cancelled after she spoke out at the city commission meeting. City Manger Phil Moore confirmed the interview was cancelled but was quoted saying he will not say why the interview was cancelled, but also supports the rights of citizens to petition the government.
