A wind farm in northern Isabella County is in the early stages of development. However, the project doesn’t include the construction of a power plant, as some on social media had stated. The negotiations are ongoing between the landowners, and Apex Clean Energy, who hopes to construct the 400 megawatt wind farm to power 93,000 homes in the site east of Weidman. The project is on track for a 2020 completion date.
This is the second wind farm proposed in the area so far this year. DTE could begin construction on their Coe Township wind mills soon.
