Tommy Hilfiger is not only an iconic designer, but a bit of a pack rat, too. Hilfiger is putting a slew of pop culture memorabilia up for auction next month, including a pair of jeans that belonged to Marilyn Monroe.
Monroe wore the jeans while filming the 1954 film “River of No Return.” If you want them, though, you’re going to have be prepared to cough up a lot of dough. The denim is estimated to be worth somewhere around $40-thousand.
The auction is set for October 21st at Julien’s Auctions in Los Angeles. If you can’t make it in person, you can bid online. Along with Monroe’s pants, you’ll also be able to place your bid on a set of four signed David Bowie Tarot Prints, Mick Jagger’s “Steel Wheels” studded leather vest, and a pair of KISS guitarist’s Ace Frehley’s platform shoes.
- ONE MORE THING! Those aren’t the only pair of Marilyn’s pants to end up in Hilfiger’s collection. The designer had two other pairs, one he gifted to Naomi Campbell and the other he gave to Britney Spears.
