- Jared Leto to play Hugh Hefner: Hugh Hefner died less than a week ago and Hollywood is wasting no time giving him a big screen tribute. It’s been confirmed that Jared Leto will play the “Playboy” icon in a biopic directed by Brett Ratner. “Jared is an old friend,” the director says. “When he heard I got the rights to Hef’s story, he told me, ‘I want to play him. I want to understand him.’ And I really believe Jared can do it. He’s one of the great actors of today.” No word yet on when the movie will premiere.
- Kate Winslet is reuniting with James Cameron: The “Avatar” sequels will now also feature a reunion between James Cameron and his “Titanic” star Kate Winslet. The actress has signed on for a starringrole in the ongoing franchise. “Kate and I have been looking for something to do together for 20 years, since our collaboration on ‘Titanic,’ which was one of the most rewarding of my career,” Cameron says. “I can’t wait to see her bring the character of Ronal to life.” So far, no details about the character have been announced. “Avatar 2” is slated for a 2020 release.
