Sister Sister Getting Reboot, Fresh Prince is NOT

Sisters get TV Time but the Prince does not

We’ve got one 90s show making a comeback and another remaining squarely in the past. According to Tia Mowry, she and Tamara are one step away from rebooting “Sister, Sister.”

“[It’s] amazing and wonderful,” Tia adds. “My sister and I are taking meetings as we speak, so it’s definitely closer than ever to making this reboot happen. We are being told that they want it to be or happen next year in the fall. So, it’s going by so fast, everything.”

Don’t expect a “Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” revival to happen ever, though. In fact, Alfonso Ribeiro says he wants the world to just “let go” of the idea. “It’s wonderful that everybody loves what we did, 25 years ago,” he explains. “I believe in current and future. People who live in the past, you’re not moving forward,” he continued. “We have a saying, ‘If you’re standing still, you’re getting passed.’”

Plus, Alfonso says without the late James Avery, who played Uncle Phil before his death in 2014, there’s “no reason” to do it. “I don’t say anything about the shows that do it,” Ribeiro adds. “If that’s what you think you all need to do then go ahead and do it. I don’t think ‘Fresh Prince’ needs to be redone. It’s history.”
