When Jessica Biel and Justin Timberlake got ready to welcome their son, Silas, in April 2015, they had a birthing plan that was anything but normal. It included:
- Two midwives,
- One doula,
- A meditation birthing class,
- …and a ton of hippie baby books.
- They had even turned their home into a labor training facility that they called “The Octagon”.
But according to Connie Simpson’s book, “The Nannie Connie Way: Secrets to Mastering the First Four Months of Parenthood,” Silas had his own plan. Jessica ended up having an emergency C-section at the hospital. Afterward, she came home with an obsession for everything organic, toxin-free, natural, and homeopathic for the baby – much to Justin’s chagrin. She said, “I was a dictator, making myself and my husband insane!”
Enter Connie. The nanny came into their lives to help them navigate new parenthood. Justin and Jessica said in cover quote, “Nanny Connie was our lifeline. She gave us the tools we needed to thrive as parents and did it with a sense of humor and a whole lot of butter.” You can get “The Nannie Connie Way: Secrets to Mastering the First Four Months of Parenthood” on April 10th.
