- Roseanne Barr says Sara Gilbert’s response to her tweets are what “destroyed” her life and career
- She thinks that both ABC and Gilbert have it out for her
- Gilbert has responded that she will always love Roseanne and consider her family
Roseanne Barr hasn’t been shy about pointing fingers when it comes to ABC’s cancellation of the “Roseanne” reboot. She’s blamed Michelle Obama, anti-Semitism, Ambien, and most recently, her former co-star Sara Gilbert. The Washington Post has published an article digging through the downfall of Roseanne, and her tweets – not only the racist one about Valerie Jarrett – were obviously part of it.
But Roseanne says it was Gilbert’s response to her tweets – calling Roseanne’s comments “abhorrent” and saying they “do not reflect the beliefs of our cast and crew” – that broke the camel’s back and “destroyed” not only “the show,” but her “life,” too. “She’s will never get enough until she consumes my liver with a fine Chianti,” Roseanne adds.
Gilbert has responded in a statement to the Post. “I knew that Roseanne, the person, was unpredictable at times, but she told me this was her redemption and I chose to believe her,” she reflects. “While I’m extremely disappointed and heartbroken over the dissolution of the original show, she will always be family and I will always love Roseanne.”
