Kate Middleton and Prince William touched down in Ireland yesterday for the start of their historic three-day trip. The goal? Soothe tensions post-Brexit. And it looks like things are off to a good start, they got a round of applause as they laid a wreath reading “May we never forget the lessons of history”  at the Garden of Remembrance in Dublin.

Kate stunned in a Kelly Green ensemble as she and Will arrived on a commercial Aer Lingus jet, welcomed by President Michael D Higgins and his wife Sabina for some tea. They took the President’s dog for a walk and gonged the Peace Bell, commemorating the Good Friday Agreement. They wrapped up their first day in Irish style, they learned how to pull the perfect Guinness at the Guinness Storehouse in Dublin, where William also said a few words.

“I have no doubt we will continue to be impressed by the creativity, warmth and hospitality the Irish people have to offer,” he said, before toasting in Gaelic. “Sláinte. [[slawn-che]]”
