Benteler Automotive Corporation is laying off more than 1,000 employees at locations in Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo and Holland. The global company sent a letter to the Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity and said the temporary layoffs were the result of “impacts on the global supply chain related to the coronavirus and the needs of their customers.” Company layoffs should be completed by April 13th.
