Andrew Kequom – Mt. Pleasant
I would like to nominate Andrew Kequom for the Gratiot Isabella Technical Center Student of the Month. Andrew is a Mt Pleasant senior and a first year Health Science Careers student. Andrew has been a joy to have in the classroom and has brought strong leadership skills with him. He is an active young man in and out of school. Here at the high school he is involved in the Health Science Careers Club, Business Professionals of America (BPA), National Honor Society, Interact Club, and the Mt Pleasant Varsity Dance Team. Outside of school he is very active with his dancing at Mt Pleasant School of Dance. His participation in BPA his strong knowledge and diligence has afforded him to qualify for the State level of competition in Business Law and Ethics. Recently he also competed in the Health Science Club Regional Competition where he took 3rd Place in Medical Math.
Andrew is involved in his community helping to organize volunteer events, mentoring young students, participating in service initiatives all while promoting inclusivity. Through the clubs and activities, he has developed leadership qualities and feels he is giving back to his community and hoping to make it a better place. Andrew plans on attending Central Michigan University in the fall working towards a degree in healthcare.
I can always look to Andrew to take on being a mentor towards his fellow students and participate in meaningful discussion. He is always “Johnny of the Spot” and prepared for anything. During his recent clinical rotation the staff and residents commented on his kindness and attention to detail. All of these qualities make Andrew the perfect nomination for Student of the Month.
