Syrup season is coming to a close. Syrup makers in Shepherd say that are hoping for one more cold snap before mid-April to reach the high number of 2,500 gallons of sap, which is the highest its been in years. The syrup is the highlight of this year’s Shepherd Maple Syrup Festival in late April.
