The thief who stole the state of Michigan flag from Blake Klumpp and his farm stand in Shepherd came forward last week. According to Shepherd police chief Luke Sawyer, a man or boy called the police department at around 12:22AM on Friday leaving a message saying he took the flag, and instructing them to where they could find it. The thief also apologized. The case remains open and under investigation.
