A Howard City man is facing charges of resisting and obstructing an officer and felonious assault after Montcalm County deputies responded to a report of a man wielding a machete and making threats Monday. Benito Lopez was arrested and placed in the Montcalm County jail. Drug use by Lopez is suspected.
