A Pennsylvania man was arrested for scamming a Gratiot County man out of $5,000. Earlier this month, a man in Gratiot County received a phone call from a man claiming to be his grandson. The caller then told him he was arrested for drunken driving and could get out of jail only if he was wired $5,000. The Gratiot County man wired $2,500 to the Pennsylvania man from the Alma Walmart, and $2,500 from the St John’s Walmart before later discovering it was a scam.
