Shepherd Police Chief Luke Sawyer says parking, traffic stops and noise were some of the biggest issues that arose during April’s Maple Syrup Festival. Overall, Sawyer said the event went well, but that there’s room for improvement. Sawyer noted congestion in residential areas due to garage sales and lack of parking. He wants to work on education about village right-of-way and ORV laws prior to the festival.
