The income of bartenders & servers, whose minimum wage is set at $3.93 to account for the tips they receive, largely hinges on how many customers come in on a given night & what mood they’re in. A State Supreme Court ruling expected soon could change all that. This case focuses on a 2018 ballot initiative that would have phased out minimum wage by this year, whether they receive tips or not. This is so everyone would have the same state minimum wage paid to them.
