The message was clear: “Stop the Hate.” Hundreds of Central Michigan University students and area residents gathered on campus Tuesday for a rally in the wake of the presidential election. Central Michigan Action organizer Jon Arlt says the group organized the rally in response to hate speech and hate crimes surrounding Donald Trump’s election, and to bring attention to them. LGBT students, women and people of color used the opportunity to speak to the group about the fears they face moving forward.
